Daphne Anderson
Daphne Anderson is the granddaughter of Margaret Clemetson and was raised by her at "Spring Valley" in Bailey's Vale, Port Maria. Her mother, May, who was born at Frontier Estate, was one of Margaret Clemetson's daughters. She moved overseas and of her 3 surviving children, one became an Aerospace Medicine Physician for the military while two others went on to become educators. The youngest Peter Anderson, earned advanced degrees in education and economics from New York University and the London School of Economics.
Margaret Clemetson
Margaret Clemetson was married to the uncle of Clifford Clemetson who inherited and became the last owner of the Frontier Estate. She was the mother of five children: David Clemetson, May Clemetson, John Clemetson, Lucille Clemetson and Stanley Beckford. It is believed that her father-in-law would have been Robert Clemetson.
Margaret Josephine Davis, a Portuguese Jewish woman, was the daughter of Agnes Rose Carvalho who left Portugal to settle in Jamaica sometime around the mid to late 1800s.
Stanley Lascelles Clemetson Borland was the son of May Clemetson and Leslie Borland, grandson of Margaret Josephine Davis Clemetson. Educated in the US he became the first Jamaican born Chemical Engineer to be in a managerial position at a Bauxite(raw ore for aluminium) Company in Jamaica. He eventually opened and operated the first synthetic foam rubber company in the Caribbean in the 1970s - 80s. Prior to this however, he served in the capacity of Chairman of the 1960 Committee on Vocational & Technical Training and the Under Secretary of Public Works & Utilities for President William Tubman of Liberia. .
